Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers

I am so so dissapointed.

Its like all the characters swallowed the edgy emo tumblr scene from 2013. It was so cringey for me. Who talks like that- all the time??

I don't mind some flowery writing but this was just not it. I had the feeling the author just wanted as many "quotable" setences as possible.

Besides who calls their friends, family members and lovers by their full name all the time?! WHAT IS THIS??
I am so sick of how often I had to listen to narrator saying "Grace Porter". Really. I can't stand it anymore.

It also wasn't as deep as I thought it would be lol
The characters didn't act like their age in my eyes but I am not 28 so let's say they weren't really mature. It was like reading a story about adults stuck in their puberty.
Also why are they always day drinking and calling it "mood haha"
Ever heard about alcoholism?

AND THE NARRATOR. She wasn't my cup of tea at all. She lisped soooo much. Don't get me wrong I also did it as a child but I got it fixed because listening to someone talk like that isn't really that funny.
I don't have something against people with a lisp. Maybe they can't fix it like I did, maybe they like it. Good for you! But in an audiobook I found it to be quite irratating und sometimes really hard to understand.

I don't know how I even got through this book. I really don't.

(Such high hopes...)
