I was excited to read this considering the high ratings but I feel like I missed something! I never fully understood the FMC hatred for the MMC. It seemed over the top with little basis. Multiple storylines were started and then never fully developed: the podcast bringing the two together, a parent trap situation for the FMC’s parents, the parent’s “quirkiness” and love story, the FMC’s relationship with her best friend.

The humor and characterizations were too on the nose and fell flat. The writing lacked emotional depth that made you care about any of the characters.
