The Lioness of Boston
by Emily Franklin
I chose to read this for my first visit to Boston, where I specifically was going to visit the ISG museum, and I am glad I read it for that purpose as I was connecting dots walking through. The book is slow paced though and could probably be shorter, especially as points get repetitive about her not fitting in or being being different than other woman. Knowing this is fiction, there were a few parts written in a way that were very obviously modern thoughts or beliefs placed in a historical setting. The way these parts played out or were worded just seemed like an after school special instead of just realistically what Isabella would have thought or said. I would only recommend this if you have an interest in the Isabella and/or her museum, but not so much otherwise.
