i still hate lynn painter’s writing, but this was definitely better than mr wrong number. hallie was a more likeable protagonist than liv, but that wasn’t enough to save the cringey writing style.. funny thing is, i found the plot more boring and cliche than mr wrong number. not sure how else to explain it but it sounding like a teenager’s blog posts in long form, but not in the fun, entertaining way. corny as hell. the kind of writing style that will just age poorly. 

entertaining hate read though, i’ll give it that!
