A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

5.0

"learn this now and learn it well, my daughter: like a compass needle that points north, a man's accusing finger always finds a woman. always."

my heart will never forget this book.

this incredible beautifully written book follows the story of two afghan women- mariam and laila. we see how unkind and unfair the world is to them and we see how much they endure just to survive but we also see how they found hope, love, and trust in each other and that makes me happy <3

'as a reminder of how women like us suffer. how quietly we endure all that falls upon us.'

their selflessness & strength? remarkable. they really deserved the absolute best and nothing less.

mariam, laila, and tariq ❤️‍
