The themes of loss, fear, conspiracy, change, grief, evolution, isolation and the sense of feeling a drift are woven into this book really well. The story on itself it seems very basic and straight forward. Until we are taken further and further in; Our Wives in the Sea is a haunting tale. It’s intriguing and grossly disturbing in its detail. But I am drawn forward to learn more. Since it came up, a phrase I have not been able to let go of is Sunken Thoughts. It’s as if Leah and her team were being set up to be studied and so were Mari and the other loved ones left on land. Oh another line that stays with me: take her back and return her again only better.
It’s bittersweet; a book that will stay with you.
