Molly has been taught from a young age to kill other mollys. As she ages, she begins to research her origins. In a world where the fertility rate is falling, she is supposed to be the cute. This book was so interesting, I absolutely loved it. I would read multiple books set in this world.
Pg. 18 "No mercy in those eyes. No evil either, just finality, which is scarier."
Pg. 14
"The rules are simple.
If you see a girl who looks like you, run and fight.
Don't bleed.
If you bleed, blot, burn, and bleach.
If you find a hole, find your parents."
Pg. 27
" "This is normally a two man-job."
"Two-person," says Molly.
"Two-person." Her father smiles. "But when you're going to need to do this, you'll be alone. You don't need a second person, but it makes the work easier. We...you will not have any tools except for knives.""
Pg. 58
"The fetch, double, wraith, or doppelganger are related concepts of human duplications in English, Irish, or German folklore. Seeing one usually means the death of the original. What if I am the wraith, the fetch, or the doppelganger? I kill all the mollys I see."
Pg. 93
"Molly picks up the knife and stabs the new mollyin the neck. It is not surprised. They are never surprised."
Pg. 112
"Molly understands. Whatever else she is, she is now a weapon. She deals death no matter what, even when she does not know it."
