I feel very ambivalent when it comes to alcohol, drugs and addiction in general. I know it's a disease, but it is also a choice. Coming from a country that has one of the highest rates of alcoholism in Europe, I can sympathise with David and Nic, but exactly because of where I'm coming from, I also find the events that are shared with us irksome.
Yes, my heart broke for the Sheff family multiple times, but I also couldn't help but think "God, you're so privileged you don't even know...".
