Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

3.0

it was good. i laughed a little and there were some surprises, but it also could have been better. there were like a million names and families i was supposed to remember, and the tiny family tree in the front of the book didn't really cover all of it. I know we were supposed to adore nick, but be serious. you're loaded, and its okay to admit that *surprise!!* it was annoying how naive he was about who his family was - they're raging, classist bitches, by the way - and then brought Rachel to a mansion (or a 'really big house, as he called it') without warning her in the slightest. but the drama was good and I always love learning about new cultures, especially their foods. I also loved the footnotes, they were hilarious
