Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back by Todd Burpo
4.0
I loved this book, and found the depictions of heaven believable. The only thing that troubled me were the parts that implied that Christianity (and only a specific type of Christianity) is a prerequisite to entering heaven. This isn't consistent with my beliefs, nor even with all Christian denominations... Some (perhaps many?) Christians embrace a Universalist theology, which includes that Christianity is one way to the "Truth", and "Salvation"; but doesn't invalidate other paths. With all respect to those who believe otherwise, I've never been able to fathom how a just and loving God would allow millions of us to be eternally condemned just for not following the "right" religion. But apart from that nagging concern, I did really love this book, & can't
wait to see the movie version of it.
