Dating You / Hating You
by Christina Lauren
A short and sweet tale of romance and the riggers of navigating real connection in a modern day work force that is filled with covert gender politics.
The author did a great job of keeping this a light and fluffy romcom with a dash of spice, while simultaneously presenting the reader with very real industry bias without letting the text become preachy.
The characterization is so impressively melinial with it's snarky nods to media and pop culture that does a great job of submerging you in the setting of the story. It is a swift read that does not disappoint.
I did think the relationship advanced heavily as the story came to an end but it is not so fast as to be unbelievable. Especially when taking into consideration the culture of the setting. That's show biz, so to speak, but in a way that really makes you route for it.
