To what length would you go to save your child?
Pick it up you want read a mystery story line with unique concept, fast paced with short chapters.
I don't remember who recommended this for 12 by 12 challenge, but when I went in and read the blurb I was like okay! This sounds interesting I should read this one and hence read this. A totally new author to me but with storyline I did go in with certain expectations & I did enjoy reading it.
The story starts with Kylie getting kidnapped with a knife by a woman & a man when she is waiting for her school bus. And Rachel, Kylie's mom gets a call stating her daughter has been kidnapped & needs to pay a certain ransom using crypto transactions & kidnap a another child for Kylie to be released. Because you see Kylie was kidnapped by the mom of boy who is been kidnapped by some other parents. For them to release that boy they had to kidnap someone's child & they choose Kylie.
You get the drift rite? This a chain reaction kidnapping.
A simple concept of kidnapping & getting ransoms but you don't get actually involved on ground & stay behind the screens directing every move of the parents.
On a thursday morning Rachel Klien is on the way to see her oncologist when she gets the call. And from that moment she does everything that she had never dreamed of doing with one singular focus of getting her daughter back. The part I of the story spans for four days form 7:55 A.M thursday to 6:00 A.M monday; which shows how Rachel kidnaps a another child to get Kylie back.
The second part of story is where she tries to find who is behind this whole operation because it has weighed down on both hers & Kylie's mental health & disrupted theri life. And she really can't fully investigate because the chain is watching; if something happens the whole thing is going to backfire like chain reaction backwards. So how does she do it forms the rest of book.
Honestly the only think I didn't like about the book was towards the end it was dragged. Other than that definitely a worth a read for its writing & storyline.
