Force Collector by Kevin Shinick

This was a great book. If you're mainly a fan of Star Wars because of the action, then this probably isn't the book for you. It's a really nice historical overview however.

I loved the character of Karr. It was fascinating to see him come to terms with his own connection to the Force and his Force abilities, particularly during a time period where there was so much uncertainty pertaining to the Jedi themselves, their history, and what they stood for. His relationship with his grandmother was really well written, and I love how we see her guide Karr on his path in her own way. Similarly, I loved the relationship with his new friend Maize, though I think my favorite character outside of Karr and his grandmother must be Karr's droid.

If you like learning more about the Force, the history and the politics of the time (but remember, it's still a book for younger readers), I think you will enjoy this.
