After the success she had in her last case, Lindsay Boxer is promoted to Lieutenant within the San Francisco Police Department and thrown into a new investigation as well. This time around, a shooter is targetting black policemen and their relatives in what seems like a case of revenge. Boxer must now pull out all stops with the Women's Murder Club and solve the crime as the city is breathing down her neck to get it solved because it seems to them like the crimes are racially motivated. Yet another very quick read and Patterson sticks to his new formula very well making his Women's Murder Club series a much more engaging read than his Alex Cross novels.
