The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin

4.0

Masterfully crafted survival-story on a foreign planet with androgynous inhabitants. Very thought-provoking and ahead of its time. I've been talking about this book to all my friends and they've all asked me the same question: "What kind of book is it?" Answering that question is quite a challenge. At its core, it's a story of two aliens. It's also a collection of journals. I'd describe it as smart and philosophic. (To be honest pretty much every book by Le Guin I've read can be described as such.) I would definitely recommend The Left Hand of Darkness. My only complaint is that this edition doesn't have a map of Gethen.
