Curious Tides by Pascale Lacelle

4.5

"There is a scholar on these shores who breathes stories. He inhales all manner of them, holds each one in his soul, and when his lungs are too full of words, he exhales at last, daring to breathe his own stories to life. Thus he breathes in words and breathes more out, in and out and in again like the measured rhythm of the sea, until one day he finds a peculiar book that sets even the tides off their fated course."

WHAAAAAAAT

WHAT KIND OF ENDING WAS THAT?!

ugh. I need to the next book.

The way I was on the edge of my seat the last couple chapters.

Lacelle did an amazing job keeping me on my toes as I tried to figure out what was going to happen. The different twist and turns were so good!!! I was breaking the 4th wall so many times haha.

The world building?! The magic system?! So so so beautiful! It was so intricate and whimsical. This is just the book to get me back into my Dark Academia era. I loved it. It did take me a bit to get into because I was kinda in a reading slump...but still super good!

Emory. Girl. What the crap were you doing? I found her soooo annoying. Ugh. But...I realized at the end...that her decisions were similar to something I probably would've done. And I was like...oop. felt called out. Still. She made me so mad.

Baz~ oh my sweet sweet cinnamon roll pookie. I love him soooo much. He deserves the freakin world. I want him. Bad.

Loved it, need the second one now.
