Well, the first half of the book was quite weird. I didn't really care that much about the main characters and wasn't that invested in their relationship. I felt myself rolling my eyes several times in the first chapters. Like, Raven is supposed to be smart and independent, yet she ends up being bullied into a weird ass relationship with a complete stranger who makes her pass out each time they have sex. Yeah....
However, the second half of the book I kind of enjoyed, and is the reason the book got 3 stars. I really liked the concept of the Carpathians and several of the characters are really promising. I will be reading the next book and hoping the romance bit is less awkward and annoying.
