It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover
3.0

Finally came around to reading It Starts with Us. This book had been on my shelf since it was published but given that it came out several years after IEWU I wanted to re-read IEWU first to have it fresh on my mind.

It Ends with Us holds a very special place in my heart. And as much as that story could of just ended there... It Starts with Us is the HEA. It's the rainbow after the dreadful storm. This book was real, it was heartfelt. The story starts off exactly where it left off. It detailed the fear involved with moving on and trying to get your life back, enveloped by the hope that everything will be alright.

In reality ... life doesn't have to be perfect, it rarely ever is, but we pick up the pieces, learn from the past, heal and move forward. We keep swimming and to me It Starts with US is a perfect example of that.

- Family drama
- Romance
- Heartache
- Fast paced
- Dual POV

For those wondering if this is a must read, the answer is no. And this is where my rating went down. Honestly, this could have been a short novella. The story does eventually drag... it didn't give me that feeling of... omg I have to see what happens next.

If you really enjoy HEAs then give it a shot..... But reading the first book is definitely a must, otherwise you'll be a little lost.
