This was a fantastic read that I could barely put down. Great setting that was detailed just as much as it needed to be. Excellent characters with some subtle subversion to my expectations. Definitely looking forward the following books in this trilogy.
Had elements of complex urban fantasy like [a:Ellen Kushner|11889|Ellen Kushner|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1243007888p2/11889.jpg]'s Riverside books or [a:Kate Griffin|613805|Kate Griffin|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1372142497p2/613805.jpg]'s Matthew Swift books with some flavors from [a:Ann Leckie|3365457|Ann Leckie|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1402526383p2/3365457.jpg]'s [b:The Raven Tower|39395857|The Raven Tower|Ann Leckie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1523646507l/39395857._SY75_.jpg|61051116]
