Interesting world building that got a much more appealing about 25% through. Was super annoyed at how unwitty and generally dumb Saeris was for the majority of the book but thankfully got better once she finally gave into sleeping with Fisher. Love Carrion as a side character and hope he gets even more prime time in book 2. Refreshing to read a book with a satisfying cliffhanger that didn’t leave me mad at the author but instead feels wrapped up enough to last for the many years between publishing.
