In my view, the book tackles the main theme successfully, however, its failure to fully grasp some of the other topics it presented as vital rendered them a confusing and seemingly unnecessary addition. I admired the protagonist’s multi-dimensional character and way of thinking which manifested itself in a compelling back-and-forth self-dialogue during her darkest moments.
Graphic: Domestic abuse, Sexual assault, Toxic relationship, Violence, and Blood
Minor: Grief, Death of parent, and Pregnancy
