Echo Burning (Jack Reacher, #5) by Lee Child
4.0
This was a pretty good book. I have mentioned in previous reviews that it is the badass-ness of Jack Reacher that lulled me into his world. And I don't think I have seen that level of badass-ness in the five books I have read since. However I still liked it. I didn't love it, hence the 4 stars.
The story was quite a peculiar one. Not surprisingly, we see Reacher hitchhiking. He gets a ride but then things start getting weird. I won't say much, but yeah it is weird, and Reacher even says it himself.
Some things I felt the book lacked were:
In-depth analysis of the fights and stuff that were there in Worth Dying For. Why I stress on this so much is because that was really interesting to me. It taught me some techniques that I would like to remember always. This isn't that important so yeah it didn't ruin the book.
Action. Don't get me wrong, there is quite some action and thrills at the latter end of the book but I don't know, it didn't seem so much as a thriller to me.
I do want to add that I certainly learned a lot about Texas and its places from the book. And also about the racial and immigrational history.
On the whole it was a good book and I don't think you will regret reading it.
