Didn't have any specific expectations of what this book was about but I thought it was absolutely fantastic, couldn't put it down. I did wonder a couple of times whether they were all connected but it was still just so clever the way they gradually revealed it all. I loved the relationship between Syen, Alabaster and Innon, and the fact that they never really tried to define it, they were just all parenting but I did basically cry (at work) with Coru at the end
Overall fantastic complicated characters that worked well together, really deep and compelling relationships, well explored themes about oppression and violence in a really well created world.
