Magic Burns, by Ilona Andrews

I am not sure what to make of this book. The good bits is that Kate is cool and the setting is interesting. The not-so-good is that I found myself not caring about any of the other characters (perhaps except for the mildly interesting Andrea) - and perhaps this is a "urban fantasy" thing, but the plot read like something from the Harry Dresden playbook.

In the end I go for "liked it", as it is well written, and is short and sweet. Maybe I read the next one.
