Sugar Falls: A Residential School Story by David A. Robertson

5.0

This tenth anniversary edition of David A Roberton's residential school survivor graphic novel should be a must read for all high school students. It covers the heartbreaking story of Betsy Ross, who attended the Cross Lake Indian Residential School. She shared her story with the author in hopes that it would help readers understand the strength and resiliency of Indigenous people and especially Residential school survivors, and how that strength is tied to "stories, cultures, families, and language." HIGHLY recommended!
