The Housemaid by Freida McFadden
dark
mysterious
medium-paced
- Loveable characters? No
3.0
Now this was gripping from the start.
But.
The writing was very simple and easy to read. I was expecting a bit better but at least it was clear
Some of story itself to me was predictable as it went on and I was just waiting for things that I knew was going to happen. It kinda obvious to me that Andrew was going to be the villian as he was made out to be perfect and Nina supposedly insane.
I could not stand the characters at all!!! I could not stand Nina at the beginning butobviously that was on purpose. Millie was awful, judging Nina for the way she looked and continuously picking on her weight. Thinking she was better because she was younger and prettier, and then steals Nina’s husband. And Andrew I liked him at first until he cheated on Nina then the whole plot came out that he was the villain all this time.
I thought the ending was a bit unrealistic for me so it kind of ruined it.
Was easy and gripping read but I think this book is overrated
