I was enjoying how much this book gave a view of what happened to some of the females in World War II, but that ending was quite literally awful. ANy character development there had been through the book washed away as she *spoiler*, has an affair with her co-worker. Quite disgusting and unrealistic to be relevant to this story. I did, however, enjoy the entire book until the final two chapters.  loved seeing this mysterious man (Julian) and how Vivi was growing up. I like the more recent view and the rather vintage view of the story., The ending was just so awful, it made zero sense and made it go from a 4 star to a 3.
