Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton

3.0

2.5 or 3? I haven't really decided yet.

Overall, the vast majority of the book and storyline were actually pretty good. I was pretty well hooked from the first few chapters (5 stars for intro, Carlton). It was suspenseful, included a murder mystery, and some seriously bad dudes with satanic ritual like shit. Sign me up.

-sigh- However, I just could NOT get past the mental block in my brain that is Zade. It wasn't even necessarily the triggers or him being a literal stalker and rapist, but his character just did not make sense to me at all. He was totally unbelievable.

He's cool cause he hunts the bad guys. Has made it his own life's mission to take down as many human trafficking rings as he can. Coolbeans! He thrives in saving women and children and wants to end their suffering and make sure they're safe...
While he wholeheartedly makes Adeline's life a living hell and abuses the shit out of her
