Rebel Heart by Penelope Ward, Vi Keeland

2.0

This series was not really for me. As I said in my review for book 1, it came down to the writing style (especially in dialogue) and the characters.

Rush especially annoyed me in this one. When he finds out Gia is pregnant, he initially vows to care for it, but when he finds out it is his brother’s child from their one-night stand all those months ago, he freaks out. I get the situation and how awkward it is for him, but she didn’t know until she saw hi brother. She needed processing time before she talked to him--I would have too! Then his answer to all of this is to leave and figure things out. Figure what out? She’s the one carrying the child. He was willing to be with them, despite the father, but when it’s revealed who that baby’s dad really is, everything changes. How is this right or fair? If they were close, I could see it being a moral, emotional issue but it isn’t, so…. Then he leaves her fr a while and when he’s back, she is packing to leave. His response to this is that she is taking off “just like that” without talking it through. Seriously? Calling the kettle black much. He left to think. She’s leaving to move on in life for the baby. She is more in the right I would like to think. The whole situation bugged me.

The ending was cute as expected. That’s all I have to say really. The series is mediocre and the writing blah.
