I started this series with later books, and loved them. I went back to the original books in the series, and was so disappointed in the quality. Its like they were written by a different author. So I wondered when I would recognize the Louise Penny who wrote this later books I loved. I am happy to say that happened in this book, third in the Armand Gamache series. Not up to the quality of the best of the best, but still a really good mystery filled with charm and life and Gamache-ness. I would say this is a 3.5. Fun read!
