Prelude to Foundation by Isaac Asimov
3.0
I’m conflicted on this book by my favorite author-Isaac Asimov. My conflict comes from the constant wandering that occurs within this novel both physically and logically. It seemed that several of the places the Hari Seldon and his companions Dora Venabili and others go to are inconsequential to the main plot line. Furthermore, the big reveal towards the end of the book was shocking, but also somewhat undeveloped which left me disappointed. Also, I noticed that several of Asimov’s characters tend to reason the same way to the point that they sort of sound the same. The conversation between the character became predictable and as a result it felt flat in the tension department. Overall, an okay addition to this series but I was left wanting more conflict, more complexity, and not just a collection of random locations and what happened to Hari Seldon in those places.
