Light My Fire by Katie MacAlister

Light My Fire follows Aisling back to England where she's moving in with her new Guardian mentor Nora in London. Aisling is hoping that London will be far enough away from Paris to keep Drake away from her (and vice versa), but of course she couldn't be more wrong.

Like the previous books in the series Aisling and Jim, her demon-dog sidekick, find themselves in precarious situation after situation including, but not limited to: being nearly murdered multiple times by someone who wants Aisling very much dead, running into Drake who makes it clear that Aisling must attend a very important sept meeting, Jim mistakenly eating the imp King and starting and all-out war as a result, a demon lord approaching Aisling about another war going on in Abaddon, and the list goes on (and on).

The amount of predicaments Aisling manages to find herself in is pretty staggering in this book, and while it was entertaining (as always) it seemed a little bit over the top in this book, even for this series. That's probably the one downside I found with this novel. There was just a few too many things going on, and it left my head spinning trying to keep track of them all.

But nonetheless, it was entertaining and funny as always. I didn't laugh out loud as much as I did while reading Fire Me Up (which has probably been my favorite book from the series so far), but I did laugh out loud here and there. Jim, as usual, is probably the best character in the series and his silliness never ceases to make my day.

So still a really fun series and I'll be a bit sad when I've read the last book, but I'm excited to read the other spin-off series' about the other dragon septs as well. I just hope Jim is in them at least a little because he's the bestest.
