Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

dark tense slow-paced

3.0

"Your worst sin is that you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing."

Following the endless monologues of a man with a God complex before and after committing a crime is a punishment. Whew, that book title is apt.

Why is everyone so emotional? They're all suddenly bursting into tears, kissing hands or feet, and shouting prayers. I enjoyed the emotionally charged scenes, though, especially on the last 100 pages.
