This only took me so long to read because I have prioritised other books while reading this.
I saw a booktuber recommend the series and thought I'd give it a whirl. The narrator is good I started off with that not 100% sure I'll use an audible credit for them again but we'll see I could change my mind there.
The mystery element is fun. I can just read it without thinking too much and it whisks me away into historical England and I liked that part. The police and the inspector were not what I expected and were very forgiving and accepting for a woman to be involved in the investigation which surprised me.
A draw back for me was I saw mentions of a life with these two before and I was confused if I was missing a book or series related to this and I still can't quite work that out. It's a small irritation and the story wasn't marred.
