The Lord of Opium by Nancy Farmer

3.0

Fascinating world building and good bones for this story, but it just felt incredibly choppy. And the ending felt much too neat and easy, given the horrors leading up to it. Farmer is so good at settings, though. I appreciated the acknowledgements at the end about people and places on which the book is based.
