Con: should have been a series
Pro: wasn’t a series

Seriously though, this book really suffered from plot dumping with little explanations and an incredibly irritating main character. The concept of blood and death magic are always interesting to me, but neither of them were fleshed out enough. Every relationship in this book was rushed, and none of it felt authentic. The main character was constantly acting out and making everything worse for herself and the people she supposedly cared about. This book either needed to be at least 100 pages longer, or turned into a series, that way it could actually be fleshed out.
