Tehrangeles by Porochista Khakpour

Gah! I've been meaning to read Khakpour for awhile now, but probably should've been a bit more judicious and read a little more about this book before deciding to pick it up. Of course a novel about a Kardashian-like family of rich people pining for a reality show wasn't going to be my favorite read of the year. All these people are utterly insufferable, even the ones who are supposed to be kind of likable, and even when they supposedly learn lessons. And so I just couldn't wait to stop reading and not have any of them in my life anymore.

This book, though, is not without its charms -- I laughed at the pet psychics, and the daughter who wants to "reassign" her birthday so she can change from a Scorpio to a Gemini, and some of the other ridiculous "rich people stuff".

If you're into reality TV, you may love this. I should've just changed the channel.
