Couldn’t be higher than a 4 for me just because I do not enjoy Colleen Hoover’s writing style, it feels very Wattpad-esque to me. Points in the book that were from the villains point of view were in tracing, captivating, and made me want to continue reading, however, parts that were written from the protagonist point of view were often drawn out, lengthy, and not as interesting as they seem. Very intense book to read, with lots of trigger warnings. Still don’t know if I fully unraveled the mystery myself. Well written, for the genre that it serves. Overall, Verity’s POV was exceptional and the primary motivation for continuing this book, and Lowen’s perspective felt bland to me, so I give it a 3.75.
