I really liked Morgane as a character, she might be a bit brass and that gets her into trouble but she will admit that she is wrong and she knows what she likes and will go for it. 

I really liked the pirate life aspect story and was a bit sad, that it was not the setting for more of the book.

The pacing was a bit uneven and pretty slow-but it didn't fit the slow speed of travel and gave room for Morgane to think and grow as a person. The resolution and ending felt very quick after the rest of the story had been so quiet and contemplative. 

I did enjoy the mix of historical novel with supernatural clements quite a bit.
