We Have Always Been Here by Lena Nguyen

Grace Park is a psychologist and has been sent, along with a crew of 13 human members and 13 androids, to an undiscovered planet in hopes that this will be a new place for settlement. Her sole purpose on this mission is to observe her crew and pass this information on to their governing company, Interstellar Frontier. But when she befriends the androids, many of the crew start to believe that she is just a spy for ISF and start to distrust her. When they land on the new planet, Eos, they are immediately hit with a radiation storm that wipe out their means of communication and affect part of the crew in odd ways: having waking nightmares where they are tongueless and unable to move and believing that they need to escape. The crew is down members, the androids start behaving strangely, and Park realizes that nothing is how it seems.

I really enjoyed this sci-fi novel and loved how the main character was drawn to the androids in a way that most of the characters couldn’t understand. The plot, at times, confused me because there were so many different motives behind what was happening, but that didn’t stop me from being immersed in the story.
