Into the Night by Sarah Bailey

2.5 ⭐️

I quite enjoyed the first Gemma Woodstock book, and this sequel was just kind of a bore after it. The dramatic situations Gemma was thrown into time and time again felt repetitive - what made them different from what she faced in The Dark Lake? That - combined with her personal spiraling and sheer stupidity when it came to her family - made Into the Night not that great.

Still giving it 2.5 stars though, because the thrill of the cases Gemma worked were really engaging.
