Like A Gentleman in Moscow, The Lincoln Highway is an adventurous tale. But an indulgent amount of over-writing to achieve the multi-perspective narrative and too much telling, not enough hinting or showing — slowed the whole thing down. My enjoyment vastly picked up once I was listening to this on audio book and I would actually recommend that over reading. I loved the characters, but the repetitive nature of the writing grew dull.
