At Home in Mitford
by Jan Karon
I don’t know if this should be rated a 3 or 4. There are so many things I enjoyed about this book. The most prominent thing being the coziness and the small town vibes in a part of the county I grew up in. I loved the great quotes on faith and getting to know the town of Mitford especially Father Tim. I thought the writing style was lovely. I really did struggle with the length of this book that had minimal plot points. A 19 hour audiobook is kind of tough for a charming but leisurely story. I had a hard time staying engaged in the story. I could have also used more descriptive language of the mountains. I also struggled to keep characters separated for some reason. At times they all ran together. This was a good one and I’ll probably eventually read further books to know what happens with father Tim and the lady he has fallen for. It is just very slow paced.
