Undeniably Enemies: A Brother's Best Friend, Age Gap Romance by J. Saman
5.0
Undeniably Enemies is book five in the Boston's Irresistible Billionaires series. This story can be enjoyed as a standalone, however, I believe it's better when you start with book one. This series is amazing, and you will want to spend as much time with these characters as possible.
In this story, we meet Wren and Jack. Their delicious enemies-to-lovers relationship starts at a Halloween masquerade party. Sparks fly before their identities are revealed. Turns out Wren is Jack's best friend's little sister, and naturally, she is off limits. Should that stop them from taking things further? Yep. Does it? Nope. Decisions are made, and after a huge misunderstanding, Wren and Jack become complete and utter enemies. They absolutely loathe each other. A few years later, they end up working together in a hospital, and now Jack is Wren's boss. Making matters worse, they are also neighbors.
Wren and Jack's relationship took me on an emotional roller coaster. I seriously felt every single emotion while reading their story. One moment I loved them, and the next, I wanted to shake some sense into them. Wren is feisty, quick-witted, and always ready with a sassy comeback. Jack tries so hard to do what's right, but always ends up saying the wrong things. Jack had to work for it, but he did at least attempt to understand Wren's feelings. Their chemistry, though? Off the charts. The banter? SO good! Somehow, they worked well together, and ultimately, I couldn't help but root for them. I loved the drama, tension, steamy scenes, and the text messages. This book has it all, and I loved it so much. I will forever be a fan of J. Saman and can't wait to see what comes next.
Narration:
Samantha Brentmoor and Teddy Hamilton in my ears? Yes, thank you, more please. These two nailed this dual-style narration. Samantha and Teddy are amazing voice actors who can do it all. They were perfectly cast for Wren and Jack and brought them to life in the best way. I felt the tension, chemistry, and push & pull between Wren and Jack. They also did well with the vulnerable moments between these complex characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook and highly recommend it.
