Grief Is the Thing with Feathers by Max Porter

challenging dark sad fast-paced

3.0

“Moving on, as a concept, is for stupid people, because any sensible person knows grief is a long-term project. I refuse to rush. The pain that is thrust upon us let no man slow or speed or fix.”

Weird. Good. Strange. True.

This was a weird book describing a family who has lost a wife/a mother and who is being counseled through this time by a crow. I told you, weird. We see different perspectives - from the husband, the boys and the crow. Parts of it are just pure madness, parts of it hit too close to home, parts of it I struggled to understand. But in the end, it was a short read that I'm glad I read.
