I thought I had read this about 12 years ago and based many opinions of this story and its characters upon my 18 year old reactions. Rereading it, I recognize that maturity offers a more focused lens with which to understand a story and its characters. I'm also not sure now that I finished it back then. haha
If it has been a few years, I recommend rereading this book. Or if you have never read it, give it a chance, but also give yourself the time and space to really read this.
