A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult

3.0

2.5 stars. The book wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t say it was great either. It started off strong, the concept really interested me and was something I was passion about. For the first 100 pages or so I was very invested in the characters. However, it started to slip down hill a bit and I just got rather bored. I predicted a lot of things that was going to happen and even when I did not the “twists” were hardly shocking. Also, the way Picoult writes POC/minority characters doesn’t quite sit well with me but I can’t really put my finger on why. Excellent premise, poor execution. However, as I said it wasn’t bad but it didn’t blow my mind.
