I know it is messed up, but I thought she was going to stay dead towards the end. I felt the ending was a cop-out. As much as I love happy endings, I wanted Lilah to die.

Regardless of my choice of ending, I think this book was good. For an instant love story, I thought it flowed well. It didn't feel rushed. I enjoyed that. I thought it was too short. I would have liked to explore more of Alistair's background. I thought the whole

bastard child of royalty

was a trope I haven't read about much.
