The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak
3.0

I feel like knowing from the start what is going to happen (first chapters are describing the story) has somehow decreased my interest in the book.
The story is indeed powerful and you find yourself lost in spiritual quotes, but I feel like this time the author went full Islamic, compared to other books I've read from her.
It was particularly hard for me to understand the terms and I needed to cross check some of the words with Wikipedia, because I couldn't understand the meaning from the context.
Unfortunately, I don't feel like this novel had a huge impact on me, compared with "Honour", for example, where I cried my eyes out.
