I was actually going to give 1 star for the efforts of the author but in the acknowledgements I realized he did not even bother to say “thanks to my readers”. I endured this horrible book and if I don’t deserve even a thank you, then this book doesn’t deserve even one star (:

I will never forgive Mark Lawrence for ruining my precious Jorg from book 1 & 2. I was not just a fan of him, he was everything to me. While everyone hated him, I loved him the most since the beginning.
This book is the biggest disappointment of the year!

MIANA DESERVED BETTER
JORG CHEATED ON HIS WIFE
KATHERINE STAYED ALIVE
EVERYTHING WAS A DREAM
5 YEARS EARLIER CHAPTERS (boooring)
JORG’S UNNECESSARY SACRIFICE
BABY WILLIAM BECAME THE EMPEROR
AUTHOR THANKED EVERYONE BUT THE READER
